Prior to rising to fame and getting more serious gigs, Jessica worked as a student intern at the US national weather service in central Illinois, mainly working at the Data Acquisition desk, where some of her responsibilities included gathering data and creating graphics and text products on a daily basis. In addition, she performed three upper air balloon launches, and worked with both the short and long term forecasters, and trained in SHEF code. Having finished with that, she joined WICS-TV, where she served as a weather intern and worked with Chief Meteorologist Ric Kearbey, in which position she prepared forecasts with Weather Central 3D live products. In addition to assisting Kearbey, she also learned about using Avid NewsCutter software.

Latter Career

In October 2012 Jessica joined KRCG, and spent a year and a half with them, subsequently working at News-Press & Gazette Company as a digital content director and meteorologist. In 2016, she joined KSDS, and went on to rise to fame as their meteorologist. She is the sole meteorologist for “Today in St. Louis”, and is responsible for creating her own forecasts. Besides that, she records radio hits for the St. Louis iHeart Media stations, and produces content for several digital platforms.
