Trieste Kelly Dunn is an American actress, who is probably best known for portraying the recurring role of Allison Knight in the Primetime Emmy-nominated television action crime drama series “Blindspot”. Apart from this achievement, she is also widely recognized from appearing in movies such as “United 93” (2006) and “The Push” (2016) as well as for starring in the popular television series “Banshee”.

Early Life and Education

Dunn was born under the zodiac sign of Capricorn on the 14th January 1981. in Provo, Utah, USA, and apart from being of American nationality, is also of white ethnicity.

Trieste enrolled at the School of the Arts, University of the North Carolina at Chapel Hill, from which she graduated, majoring in theatre. She later continued her schooling, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University in Tempe.

Career

Although her first acting experience dates back to her early age of 14, when in 1995 she appeared in an episode of the TV mini series “Marriage”, Dunn’s actually began in 2003 while she was still attending UNC, when she appeared in couple of student’s short movies. In 2004 she made an uncredited appearance in the thriller movie “Mysterious Skin”, while her ‘real acting’ debut occurred in 2005 when she appeared in the action drama movie “Little Chicago”.

In 2006 she made a memorable appearance as Deora Frances Bodley in the Oscar-nominated historical drama thriller movie “United 93”, which was followed by a streak of small screen engagements in the course of the next couple of years. Dunn honed her professional skills by starring in TV movies “What’s Not to Love?” (2006) and “The Tower” (2008) as well as by appearing in an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” TV series, and by portraying the recurring character of Molly McConnell in the TV series “Canterbury’s Law”.

In 2010 she was cast to play a pair of main female roles in the comedy drama movie “The New Year” as well as in the comedy crime movie “Vacation!”. The real breakthrough in Trieste Kelly Dunn’s acting occurred in 2013, when she was cast for the recurring role of the Deputy Siobhan Kelly in the prestigious Primetime Emmy Award-winning television action crime drama series ““. which she reprised ’til 2014, through the show’s first and second season, then between 2013 and 2014 in its spin-off TV series entitled “Banshee Origins” as well.

Additionally, in 2013 Trieste appeared as Margot Dixon in a couple of episodes of the critically praised TV crime drama series “Golden Boy”, followed by the recurring role of FBI Special Agent Elizabeth Ferrel in the TV fantasy drama series “Believe” in 2014.

Dunn played the leading female role in the 2015 romantic comedy movie “Applesauce”, which was followed by a streak of supporting performances in the television comedy drama series “Almost There”. To greater prominence Trieste came later later that year when she was cast to play the recurring role of Allison Knight in the NBC TV drama series ““, which she reprised ’til 2018, appearing in a total of 15 episodes through the shows’ three seasons, still considered as one of her most memorable on-camera engagements so far.

For her great performance in the 2016 short thriller movie “The Push”, she was honored with the Best Actress in a Short Film Awards at Northeast Film Festival, and at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival as well. For her portrayal of Amber in the 2017 comedy movie “The Misogynists”, she was rewarded with the Clint Howard Character Actor Award at the Sidewalk Film Festival.

Dunn’s most recent acting appearances include starring in a couple of episodes of “The Passage” TV series, as well as in the critically praised 2019 horror movie “Girl on the Third Floor”. Besides the abovementioned, in Trieste’s professional which already contains over 50 acting credits, there is a vast number of supporting roles in various TV series such as “The Good Wife”, “Royal Pains”, “Bull”, as well as “Elementary” and “Strangers” to name a few.
