Her father was a business proprietor, while her mother worked as a model. Yasmine is of Algerian descent on her mother’s side, and German-Jewish and Russian-Jewish ancestry through her father.

Career Beginnings

From an early age Yasmine was thrown into show business – as a baby she appeared in cosmetic commercials for Max Factor, and soon caught the attention of the fashion photographer Francesco Scavullo. This let to further appearances, and at 10 years of age she made her acting debut in a Johnson & Johnson’s No More Tears baby shampoo television commercial.

Two years later, Yasmine made her film in “Hey Babe!” next to Buddy Hackett, and in 1983 featured in the film “Baba!”. In 1985 she secured the role of Ryan Fenelli in the TV series “Ryan’s Hope”, in four years appearing in 13 episodes, which only helped her career.

Rise to Prominence

The ‘90s didn’t have a good start for Yasmine, but after few unsuccessful projects, she was chosen for the part of Caroline Holden in the TV action-adventure series “Baywatch” (1993-1999). Young Yasmine featured in more than 70 episodes of the award-winning series, which launched her to prominence, and she caught the attention of numerous high-profile magazines, including People and FHM among others.

She worked as a model, often doing photo sessions in lingerie or a bikini. Yasmine also featured in several television series and films, and in 1998 she was chosen for the part of Caitlin Cross in the TV series “Nash Bridges” (1998-2000).

However, she was arrested in 2001 in Romulus, Michigan, following a car accident on the interstate 94 highway, with police finding an injectable form of cocaine and a small bag that had cocaine traces.

With a further search of her hotel room, the police found more cocaine and other drugs. As a result, Yasmine was sentenced to two years probation, and now has to take occasional drug tests; she’s also served 100 hours of community service.

Yasmine has been married to Paul Cerrito, former strip club owner since the 25th August 2002. Since the early 2000s, Yasmine has stayed away from the entertainment world, and isn’t active on any social media platform.

Charity Work

Starting in 1998, Yasmine has been involved in charity work; one of her first campaigns was serving as a spokesperson for the Lee National Denim Day fundraising campaign, focused on raising funds for breast cancer research and education. During her stint with the campaign, it raised $5 million, given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, for which she is also a spokesperson, and has been an integral part in creating the nationally run Race for the Cure. She has also donated $10,000 from the “Celebrity Jeopardy!” quiz show she won to breast cancer research.

    I say for Yasmine, she will be good hopefully the right pick to solo anchor the 12PM weekday afternoon newscast at KCAL-TV Channel 9, an independent station in Los Angeles, to begin a new career as a television news anchor.
