Who is Daniel Henney?

Daniel Phillip Henney was born on 28 November 1979, in Carson City, Michigan USA, and is a model and actor, best known from being a part of numerous high profile films, including “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” as well as “Big Hero 6”. He’s also starred in various popular television shows, such as “Criminal Minds”.

The Net Worth of Daniel Henney

How rich is Daniel Henney? As of mid-2018, sources inform us of a net worth that is over $1 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. He’s also received numerous awards over the course of his career. As he continues his endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings

Daniel’s mother is a Korean-American hailing from Busan, South Korea, while his father is Irish-American. He attended Carson City-Crystal High School, and was a star basketball player during his time, helping his team get the MHSAA Central region (CSAA) championship during his senior year. In 2001, he started modelling in the US, and thanks to his work, was able to travel to various destinations while still attending college, including to Taiwan, Italy, France and Hong Kong. He then made his South Korean debut as a part of an advertisement for the cosmetic “Odyssey Sunrise” by Amore Pacific. He then became a spokesperson for the commercials for Olympus cameras – alongside Jun Ji-hyun – and would also appear in Daewoo Electronics’ Klasse air conditioners commercials alongside Kim Tae-hee.

Acting Prominence

Despite not having any capability in speaking Korean, he became a star, and was part of the South Korean television series “My Lovely Sam Soon” or “My Name is Kim Sam Soon”, which was the most popular Korean drama in 2005, with Henney playing the role of Dr. Henry Kim, a surgeon who is in love with Jung Ryeo-won’s character.

He only had a supporting role, but he was still acclaimed. The following year he was cast in another Korean drama entitled “Spring Waltz”, and would later learn the Korean language, subsequently appearing in various variety shows, including “Family Outing”. Around this time, he became a part of an academic-related scandal, as numerous sources stated that he had an economics degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, although he had never completed a college degree.

In 2009, he appeared in the Hollywood film “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, in which he played Agent Zero or Maverick as in the comics – the film is based on the Marvel Comics character Wolverine.

Personal Life

One of his most notable romantic connections was with actress Maggie Q, who is best known from her appearances in the films “Mission: Impossible III” and “Live Free, Die Hard”. They started dating in 2005 and stayed together for several years before breaking up. Henney has also mentioned that if he did not find success in acting, he would’ve likely pursued a career in basketball, which he continues to play during his free time. He mentioned that one of the reasons he acted in South Korea was so that he could track his mother’s biological family. Other activities he does in his free time include reading, travelling, guitar playing and other sports.
