Who is Sharon Case from “The Young and the Restless”?

Sharon Case was born on 9 February 1971, in Detroit, Michigan USA, and is an actress and former model, known from her appearances in various television soap operas, including “General Hospital”, “As the World Turns”, and “The Young and the Restless” since the late 1980s.

The Net Worth of Sharon Case

How rich is Sharon Case? As of mid-2018, sources estimate a net worth that is at $3 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting, having met critical acclaim leading her to win a Daytime Emmy Award. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Sharon grew up very interested in dance, and devoted a lot of time to improving her skills in both jazz as well as ballet. Her family later moved to Chatsworth, California, where she would grow up. She always intended to pursue a career in acting later on, but during her teens she turned her attention to modelling, thinking that it would be a good start to enter the entertainment industry.

In 1988, she caught the attention of a scout while at a modelling event, who offered her a job in Japan, and she moved there for five months before eventually returning to Los Angeles. She then decided to appear in various theatrical productions, and some of her work during this time included “The Wizard and the Nutcracker”, and “Grease”. The following year, she had her first television role in the soap opera “General Hospital”, playing the role of Dawn Winthrop, the long-lost daughter of Monica Quarterman played by Leslie Charleson.

Acting Career

She stayed in “General Hospital” for a year, then made a guest appearance in the series “Doogie Howser, M.D.”. In 1991, she would start appearing in other television series, mainly as a guest, including in “90210”, “Cheers”, “Beverly Hills”, and “Parker Lewis Can’t Lose”. Two years later, she got her second recurring soap opera role, being cast in the series “As the World Turns” in the role of Debbie Simon. Her character was a manic depressive, but according to an interview, Case really enjoyed the role.

She also appeared as a part of “Silk Stalkings”, then in “As the World Turns” in 1994, leaving to become a regular in the soap opera “Valley of the Dolls”, based on a novel of the same name by Jacqueline Sussan. She then had a role in the HBO film “Breast Men”, initially being offered a starring role, however, she was uncomfortable being topless on-screen, she took a smaller role. She was then cast in the role of Sharon Newman as a part of the series “The Young and the Restless”.

The Young and the Restless Plus Later Work

Sharon’s character was already initially introduced to the show earlier in the year, played by other actresses. Her’s was initially a recurring role, but then a contract role the following year, and she subsequently stayed with the show until 2003, when she temporarily left due to contract disputes. She later returned and the show saw her grow-up into a mother and businesswoman, plus having relationships with Nicholas Newman and Adam Newman in the show.

Sharon won several awards over the course of her run with the show, though it also met with some controversy due to storylines that were frowned upon by the audiences. Aside from her work with the show, Sharon also appeared in the independent film “Carpool Guy”, and the short film “Repressions”, then in the sex comedy web series “Poor Paul”, and the romantic comedy “Dad’s Home” which was aired on the Hallmark Channel.

Relationships and Personal Life

It is known that Case was married in 1988 at the age of 17, though the details are unknown and it apparently ended in the same year. In 2007, she married Sandy Corzine but it also proved to be a short-lived marriage as it lasted two years before they divorced.

She is known to have created her own signature line of jewelry called Pomp, which featured 20 different designs during its initial launch through the shopping network QVC. Nine more pieces were later added, with the line aimed at “The Young and the Restless” fans.
