It was in 1984 that he became a part of the boy band New Kids on the Block, alongside his brother Jonathan, while other members included Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood. In addition to singing, he would also start playing piano and keyboards. In its first installment, the band existed until 1994, during which time they became a global sensation. They released five studio albums, “New Kids on the Block” (1986), which was their debut, and it reached No. 25 on the US Billboard 200 chart and achieved triple platinum status, then “Hangin’ Tough” (1988), which became their first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart and it achieved multiple platinum status in the USA. Before their disbandment, they released three more studio albums “Merry, Merry Christmas” (1989), “Step by Step” (1990), which was their second No. 1 album, and “Face the Music”, which is their lowest charting album as it peaked at only No. 37.

The band reassembled in 2007 and since then have released two studio albums “The Block”, and “10”, in 2008 and 2013 respectively. The success of the band made Jordan a star musician.
