She also became known from moderating a presidential debate in 2016, along with Trish Regan.

Early Life, Education, Track & Field

When it comes to speak about her early life, Sandra Smith spent her childhood in the Wheaton suburb of Chicago, where she was raised by her father, who was a floor trader at Chicago’s Mercantile Exchange, and her mother. Her parents’ names have not been revealed to the media. Regarding her education, she attended Wheaton Warrenville South High School, where she also ran track & field, and was a member of the cross country team – its captain in her senior year. Thanks to her accomplishments, she won All-DuPage Valley Conference honors and became an Illinois High School Association state qualifier. She was also a member of an Academic All-Conference selection. Upon matriculation in 1998, she enrolled into Illinois State University, but later transferred to Louisiana State University, and majored in Business with a minor in Speech. There she continued to run track & field, ‘playing’ Division I college sports on an NCAA national championship team in 2003.

Career Before Fame

Prior to becoming a noted journalist and television personality, Sandra Smith spent some time pursuing a career in the business industry, working in the position of a research associate for Aegis Capital Group. During her stint there, she was involved in various analyses of retail stocks as well as in preparing weekly stock newsletters for her clients, and so was also in the position of identifying investment opportunities. Afterwards, she was hired as a trader by Hermitage Capital Corporation, located in New York City, and thanks to her hard work, she was offered the position as the Director of Institutional Sales and Trading by Terra Nova Institutional in Chicago, which she surely accepted, increasing her net worth by a large margin.

She quickly began appearing in various FBN’s shows, including “Imus In The Morning” created by Don Imus, “Fox Business Happy Hour”, and the late-night program “Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld”. Furthermore, she appeared in “Hannity” every Wednesday, and worked as a guest-anchor of “The Story With Martha MacCallum”.
