Jones was born on the 12th November 1974, in Pasadena, California USA, and is a model and actress, who has appeared in a number of film and TV titles, and is probably best recognized for starring in the role of Nikki in “Booty Call” (1997), as Bobbi Seawright in “For Your Love” (1998-2002), and alately Lanie Parish in “Castle” (2009-2016).

Early Life and Education

Speaking about her early life, Tamala Jones was raised with her sisters Craig Jones and Tracey Cherelle Jones,  and where she attended Marshall Fundamental Secondary School, after which she matriculated from John Marshall High School, together with her classmates Jaleel While, a future actor, and Lark Vorhess, an aspiring actress. After high school, she attended Pasadena City College.

Career Beginnings

Prior to becoming an actress, Tamala worked as a model, appearing in various magazines and television commercials, including an IBM national commercial in 1989. Eventually she appeared in a brief role in the teen TV series “California Dreams”; however, her acting career really began in 1995, when she appeared in brief roles in several TV series, such as “The Parent ‘Hood”, “The Wayans Bros.” and “ER”, after which she made her debut film appearance in the role of Anna’s great grandmother in the 1995 title “How To Make An American Quilt”.

Rise to Fame

In 1996, Tamala was chosen to portray Callie Timmons in the TV series “Dangerous Minds”, which lasted for a season, and then she won her breakthrough role as Nikki in the film “Booty Call” (1997). During the same year, she won the role of Tina in the TV series “Veronica’s Closet”, which lasted until 1999, after which she was cast as Tanya in the film “Wood”, and then as Janiece in the film “Blue Streak”, alongside Martin Lawrence and Peter Greene. During that period, Tamala was also filming the TV series “For Your Love” (1998-2003), portraying Bobbie Seawright, and adding a considerable amount to her net worth. By the end of the decade, she had also starred in such film titles as ““Next Friday”, “Turn It Up” and “How To Kill Neighbor’s Dog”, all in 2000.

However, during the same year, she was cast the role of Tonya in the TV series “One On One” (2001-2005), and concurrently she was selected to play Alicia Mitchell in “The Tracy Morgan Show” (2003-2004). Her next major role came in 2006, when she featured as Tory Adams in the film entitled “Confessions”, which was followed by her portrayal of Kim Hinton in the film “Daddy Day Camp” (2007), along with Cuba Gooding Jr and Lochlyn Munro. Afterwards, Tamala featured as Nikki in the 2008 film “The Hustle”, portrayed Regina in the film “The Janky Promoters” (2009) and was then selected for the role of Lanie Parish in the TV series “Castle” (2009-2016), which earned her enormous popularity all over the world.

The 2010s and Recent Projects

To speak further about her accomplishments, she won the lead role of Victoria in the film “35 And Ticking”, alongside Nicole Ari Parker and Kevin Hart, and she also appeared as Daphne in the 2013 film “Things Never Said”, along with Omari Hardwick and Shanola Hampton.
